Scotia Prince cancels 2005 season :(

Well, I'm a little disappointed right now because I just went out to the Scotia Prince website to find that they were forced to cancel their 2005 cruise season because of some negligenc on the part of the City of Portland in dealing with a mold problem in the port buildings that they lease from the city. Certainly, I wouldn't want to subject my workers to any hazardous conditions but it sucks that they have to lay off many of their workers now and even run the possibility of having to sell the ship. Granted, there is at least one other Maine to N.S. ferry that I'm aware of with vacation packages (The Cat) but the Scotia Prince was a step beyond and had better vacation package options, I think. Damn. Well, if they survive and are able to charter the boat this year and return next year (come on Portland!), I will definitely use them next year. For now, I'm left debating on another package through The Cat or I may just do my own planning...or do a long cruise like I thought to do originally this year. Well, we'll see.

Full fledged website coming!

Well, I've finally bought a domain name and server space and am currently planning a full website for all things related to my traveling and experiences. It should be quite nice because I'm a planning freak when it comes to stuff like this (I still have notebooks with my original ideas and sketches from my old wallpaper site design from 1998!).
It will have full reviews of places I've been to with photo galleries, fun things, my travel blog, a forum, travel calendar and some other cool things. It'll be fun to do the design since it's been a while since I've flexed my creative and artistic muscle.
Updates will be posted as I get things finished.
:)
